Following the launch of Google Dataset Search we received many questions from DataCite members about schema.org, indexing by Google Dataset Search, and data citation in general. We wanted to make sure you had all the answers, so we organized a webinar and invited Natasha Noy from Google.

Discoverability of research data is a core component of the research data ecosystem. Making data findable has always been one of DataCite’s main goals, with DataCite Search providing a tool to search for all datasets with DataCite DOIs. Today the discoverability of datasets was taken to the next level with the launch of Google Dataset Search.

Three weeks ago we started assigning DOIs to every post on this blog [@https://doi.org/10.5438/4K3M-NYVG]. The process we implemented uses a new command line utility and integrates well with our the publishing workflow, with (almost) no extra effort compared to how we published blog posts before. Given that DataCite is a DOI registration agency, we obviously are careful about following best practices for assigning DOIs.
