Just before the recent launch of PKP’s new website and 25th anniversary campaign, the team celebrated the arrival of Urooj Nizami, who is responsible for forging and strengthening relationships as well as facilitating community engagement. Urooj has already made a major impact to the website, which now includes a Community Page outlining the global nature of the community, PKP’s membership model, and strategic partnerships.

The new year marks a number of exciting events for PKP.  First off, 2023 is PKP’s 25th year of operation.  The Project is launching a completely refreshed website this week, and is celebrating its recent designation as a Core Facility of Simon Fraser University.

Editors or those with multiple roles in a journal use the submissions lists to identify which submissions need action, which submissions are waiting for reviewers or authors, when they need to nudge other editors to take actions, or when expected tasks are overdue. Sometimes these lists get long and it becomes difficult for editors to filter the submissions that need action.

PKP has developed the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN) to digitally preserve OJS journals. The PKP PN ensures that journals that are not part of any other digital preservation service (such as CLOCKSS or Portico) can be preserved for long-term access. Preserved content in the PKP PN is only made available to users after a trigger event, at which time the content will be made accessible to the reading public.

As cOAlition S stipulates, for its funded research, all peer-reviewed scholarly articles must be published in venues that meet the Plan S “Requirements for Publication Venues”. The webinar will go over these requirements and how they can be met using OJS.
