In June 2022, the Federation of Finnish Learned Societies hosted a PKP Sprint in Helsinki, Finland. The Sprint involves PKP community members forming groups to tackle PKP software and support. This is a summary of one such group’s work.

As part of an annual tradition at this time of year, the Public Knowledge Project (PKP) released its 2021 Annual Report on June 28th, 2022. The report, covering the fiscal year 2021 to March 31st, touches on all the year’s highlights in PKP’s ongoing efforts to expand public access to research and scholarship.  At the top of the highlight list this year is PKP’s signing on to Simon Fraser University’s (SFU) Core Facilities Program.

De acuerdo con datos publicados en 2021, existen más de 25,000 revistas en el mundo utilizando OJS para publicar, de las cuales 4,714 se encuentran en Latinoamérica .  Sin embargo, los datos muestran que aún existe un alto porcentaje de instalaciones que no utilizan una versión de OJS actualizada.

April 14, 2022 Google Analytics’ privacy practices are being challenged, especially in European Union member countries, where they contravene the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and have been declared illegal in some countries. For this reason, the PKP Technical Committee recommends not using Google Analytics so you do not end up tracking readers that are citizens of countries that enforce GDPR.
